Union St Gilloise are just two wins away from their first Belgian top flight title since 1935. The first side in their way are Antwerp, who they have already beaten twice this season. However, both of those victories came at home, with the most recent being a 5-1 mauling. Antwerp at home have beaten Union twice, the first 2-0 back in September and the most recent being a 5-1 win in the cup back in January.

Union have been sensational so far in the play-offs, having won all but one of their eight games. Three points against Antwerp on Saturday evening may well be enough to win the title if Club Brugge lose to Anderlecht on Sunday lunchtime. They look set to have Promise David fully fit for the clash, with the Canadian having found form at just the right time during the post-season run. Union have also had the best defence during the play-offs, conceding just one goal.

Antwerp also have something to play for. If they match or better Gent’s result this weekend they will secure a spot in the Conference League qualification match against Charleroi. There is a possibility that they could catch Anderlecht in fourth, however that appears unlikely. The side have only won twice during the play-offs so far, once against Genk and the other against Gent. Both of these came away from home.
