Tottenham Hotspur coach Antonio Conte gives his opinion on their win against Vitesse Arnhem

Speaking in the post-match presser (h/t Football.London), Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has analysed the win against Vitesse Arnhem in the UEFA Europa Conference League. The victory saw Spurs hop above the Dutch club in their group table.

Tottenham got all three points after an early blitz saw them lead by 3-0 but the visiting side pulled it back to 3-2 within the first half. Cristian Romero got himself sent off in the second half and Antonio Conte’s side held on as the opponents saw two red cards late in the game.

Talking after the game, the Italian said that it was a crazy encounter and that they deserved to win the game. He continued by saying that they created a lot of chances and should have scored more.

“My first impression, a crazy game a crazy game because we were winning 3-0 and I think we were dominating the game, created many chances to score. And at the end, I think we deserved to win because at the end we created many chances, more chances than Vitesse.”

Conte further added that he does not like such unstable performances which caused their team to lack control. At the same time, he appreciated the commitment from the players to win by suffering.

“But [people] who know me very well, [know that] I don’t like when this type of game, this crazy game, I call them a crazy game. But for sure, my players showed me great commitment, great resilience, and I think this is a good aspect. I think this team needs to win also suffering.”

The North London club sit in second place with seven points from four matches and are closely followed by the Vites with six points. Stade Rennes lead the group with a comfortable three-point lead from the same number of matches.

The English club will face NS Mura in the next fixture who has not won a point so far in the table.
