Ansu Fati holding onto Hansi Flick promise with a week to go in the transfer market

Barcelona are looking to move on as many of their non-essential players as possible this summer, as they attempt to raise funds in the transfer market. One of the names that has remained in uncertainty is Ansu Fati.

The 21-year-old forward suffered a foot injury in preseason training, which will keep him out until at least September. Diario AS say that he was impressing in training, and looking sharp. Fati was promised that he would get a shot in the first team under Flick to try and prove himself, with the German manager seeing him as an alternative to Robert Lewandowski through the middle.

The same source claims that Barcelona will honour that commitment, but if another winger or forward arrives, then Fati himself could consider an exit. The Blaugrana appear to still be set on bringing in a left winger, with Federico Chiesa best-placed, and that could persuade Fati to move on.

Given the number of players that Barcelona have considered offers for, it would be surprising if they were not open to letting Fati go, be it on loan or otherwise. Previously he has been linked with Benfica and Sevilla, but certainly with the latter, the proviso was that they would not be willing to pay much of his wages. Barcelona also have Pau Victor and Ferran Torres who would be competing for his minutes in the middle too.
