A sidelined member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is closing on an imminent return to matchday duties.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Ansu Fati as the player in question.
Wide-man Ansu was of course dealt his latest fitness setback earlier this summer.
As much came upon the 21-year-old limping out of training at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, with an unspecified foot problem.
Following a round of medical tests, it was revealed that Ansu was dealing with a bout of plantar fasciitis.
He has remained on the sidelines ever since, no doubt chomping at the bit to get back on the pitch, to play his part in what has been a stellar start to the campaign on the part of his teammates.
And, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Friday is anything to go by, then the Spanish international now appears closer than ever to precisely that.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘According to what MD was able to find out, Hansi Flick and his technical staff hope that Ansu can be given the medical all-clear before the match next Sunday 15th against Girona.’
A first appearance of the season, in turn, could well be in store for Ansu at the Estadi Montilivi.
