Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen have this afternoon sealed an agreement for a fresh addition to the club’s frontline.

The player all set to take his talents to the BayArena? Borja Iglesias.

The name of frontman Iglesias has of course taken its place front and centre in the European transfer headlines across the week to date.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the aforementioned Bayer had set their sights on the Real Betis man, as a short-term replacement for the sidelined Victor Boniface.

Talks, in turn, were kicked into gear between the respective boards in Leverkusen and Seville.

And, as alluded to above, on Wednesday, an agreement has been found.

As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Iglesias is primed to link up with Xabi Alonso’s high-flying Bayer for the remainder of the campaign.

The transfer comes in the form of an initial loan, featuring an €8 million option to buy in the summer.

The experienced striker will now fly out to Germany, ahead of putting pen to paper on terms at the BayArena at some point over the coming days.
