Dean Holden will be looking for a response from his Charlton Athletic side after they suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Fleetwood Town on Saturday.

The Addicks approach something of a lose-lose encounter at Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday evening, with the expectation being that they pick up three points due to FGR’s rock bottom league position, when in actual fact performances have seen an upturn, despite only yielding one point from three games, since Duncan Ferguson took the reins.

Ashley Maynard-Brewer could have done more for both of the Cod Army’s goals at the weekend, and with Joe Wollacott back fit and available, the Australian may be on his last chance.

Maynard-Brewer has produced some excellent displays between the sticks in the last couple of months, but some errors have begun to creep into his game.

Todd Kane, Mandela Egbo and Miles Leaburn look set to be unavailable, while Ryan Inniss will be suspended barring an appeal, as Michael Hector, Sean Clare and Matt Penney are doubtful.

We believe that Holden should make four changes in aiming to bounce back against the Green…

The four alterations are as follows: Richard Chin replaces Clare due to injury, the 20-year-old has not featured in the Addicks’ last seven, Steven Sessegnon comes in for Matt Penney who may be unavailable, but also warrants dropping for his display against Fleetwood, Terell Thomas steps in for suspended Inniss and Albie Morgan is in for Gavin Kilkenny, to offer a greater attacking threat from midfield.

It is a very makeshift backline for the Addicks out of necessity, but a good chance for Thomas to show what he is about, ahead of his contract expiring in the summer, alongside Lucas Ness who has been a consistent strong performer under Holden.

Daniel Kanu could come back into the matchday squad with Macauley Bonne yet to get off the mark, while Wollacott, Jack Payne and Tyreece Campbell will be pushing for a start.

Quiz: Are these 20 Charlton Athletic facts real or fake?

Deji Elerewe will likely be on the bench if Inniss is suspended, while Holden could be tempted to rest Corey Blackett-Taylor due to his long-standing fitness issues.
