Al-Shabab looking at bringing Antwerp duo to Saudi-Arabia

Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Al-Shabab remain interested in Marc Overmars and Mark van Bommel. The Antwerp head coach has confirmed that there is interest from the Saudi-Arabian side, however there has not yet been a concrete proposal. The double winning head coach recently signed a new deal with the Great Old, however given the money available in the Saudi league, it is unlikely that he wouldn’t consider the move to the middle-east.

Al-Shabab have recently added Belgian international Yannick Carrasco to their squad, alongside former Strasbourg striker Habib Diallo. Van Bommel would replace fellow Dutchman Marcel Keizer, who left the side after just five matches in charge. Former Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars is also coveted by the side, who want to keep the successful duo together after they delivered Antwerp’s first title since 1957, alongside a domestic cup victory as well.

Antwerp also qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history after overcoming AEK Athens.
