An outbreak of COVID-19 at Ajax which has impacted 11 players mean they travel to Denmark for Champions League duty with a threadbare squad.

Among the names who have been ruled out of the game against Midtjylland are goalkeeper Andre Onana, Dusan Tadić, Davy Klaassen and Ryan Gravenberch.

In addition, back-up goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg was also left out of the travelling party.

As a result, Ajax have confirmed that a squad of just 17 players have made the trip from Amsterdam.

It means that 20-year-old Kjell Scherpen is in line to make his Champions League debut and is the only goalkeeper in the matchday squad.

The squad is as follows:

Scherpen, Schuurs, Mazraoui, Blind, Martínez, Tagliafico, Klaiber, Timber, Álvarez, Ekkelenkamp, Neres, Antony, Promes, Traoré, Huntelaar, Brobbey, Jensen.
