AGF chief Stig Inge Bjornebye has opened the door to a partnership with Liverpool.

Bjornebye admits he has been in contact with Reds chiefs Michael Edwards and Julian Ward at his former club as he looks to have a positive impact at Aarhus.

“I'm back over sometimes to see the matches and the way they look after me when I come over is really warming," he told the Liverpool Echo. “With Julian now as my counterpart at Liverpool I suppose, I know him quite well and we speak from time-to-time about players and about ongoings.

“It's good learning for me to understand what goes on in a big club like Liverpool. I'm really grateful for the conversations I've had with Michael and now with Julian."

Liverpool have actually done transfer business in recent times with Aarhus, twice sending Kamil Grabara on loan to the club, though both times before Bjornebye had joined the club. And although the Polish goalkeeper was sold to Copenhagen last summer, the Norwegian has hinted his relationship with his old employers could see the transfer link revisited.

“I didn't sign Kamil myself, that was before my time, but my relationship with the club is really good," he said. “It could happen again, of course, if it's a good fit for them. Players on loan, like with Kamil, or there could be other players who have maybe had their time at the club and can accept playing in the Danish league.

“It's not bad by the way, it's quite competitive these days. I wouldn't rule it out for sure, it could happen again."
