Lyon FĂ©mininâs march towards a sixth successive Womenâs Champions League crown continued on Thursday evening.
Scorers: Parris 30âČ, Malard 90+3âČ
They hold the advantage at the halfway point of their last 16 clash with BrĂžndby, although may be frustrated that their lead isnât a bigger one.
After a series of early openings, Nikita Parris put the holders ahead on the half-hour mark when Amel Majri crossed for her to plant home a headed opener.
Naja Bahrenscheer in the visiting goal continued to be kept busy but was equal to Lyonâs attempts to add to their advantage, with Majri also hitting the woodwork, as it looked like they would be bringing a slim advantage to Denmark.
However, in the third minute of injury-time, Melvine Malard added a potentially crucial second from a Janice Cayman delivery to put a big foot into the quarter-final.
The second leg will take place next Wednesday.
