Inter defender Francesco Acerbi picked up a new injury which forced him to leave the pitch after just 15 minutes of his side’s game against Verona.
The 36-year-old was handed his second consecutive Serie A start by Simone Inzaghi since recovering from injury, but he started showing signs of physical discomfort about 10 minutes into the match.
After initially telling his coach and staff he was not feeling good, he was eventually replaced by Stefan De Vrij a few minutes later, moments before Joaquin Correa scored the opener for Inter.

As reported by DAZN, Acerbi left the pitch due to a muscle contracture to his right flexor, but his recovery time will only be clear after he undergoes medical tests.
Acerbi already missed two Serie A games through injury this season and had made his return in Inter’s home meeting with Napoli, when he delivered a rock-solid defensive display by neutralising his former teammate Romelu Lukaku.
