“It was a crazy year, from every point of view. Obviously very positive, but there was also something that changed us in June, then luckily that episode ended well.

“I am referring to Christian Eriksen, now he is fine. Time flies. We played very well in the European Championships and we have already qualified for the World Cup.”

Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch in Denmark’s opening game of Euro 2020 against Finland in Copenhagen.

Simon Kjaer has since been credited with helping to save his life as he reacted quickly to assure that the Inter midfielder did not swallow his tongue and was put in the recovery position.

The medical staff at Parken Stadium were then able to take over and save Christian Eriksen’s life. He is now still recovering in Denmark with his family close to him.
