An update on the wellbeing of Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola has come to the fore this afternoon.

And the news will no doubt be met with widespread concern on the part of the PSG faithful.

Winger Barcola, for his part, set alarm bells ringing across France’s capital late on Friday night.

As much came upon the 21-year-old limping out of Les Bleus’ U23 outfit’s friendly meeting with the Ivory Coast.

Afforded a starting berth by head coach Thierry Henry, Barcola lasted just 25 minutes, before succumbing to what appeared to be a hamstring problem.

And though an official announcement on the extent of the issue has not yet been forthcoming, word stemming from the French media on Saturday does not bode at all well.

As per a report from L’Équipe:

‘The 21-year-old attacker underwent an MRI this Saturday morning in Châteauroux and the examination confirmed that he is suffering from a hamstring injury.’

Barcola, as a result, is tipped to miss ‘several weeks’ of action, with the early prognosis throwing his availability for PSG’s upcoming Champions League quarter-final first leg showdown with Barcelona into serious doubt.
