LaLiga is back this weekend, and always there are an abundance of young talents waiting to shine over the next 10 months.

Here are five to keep an eye out for this season.

Luiz Henrique (Real Betis)

Betis already had a squad full of technique and flair in abundance with the likes of Nabil Fekir and Sergio Canales in their ranks.

They’ve only gone and added 21-year-old Henrique to the mix following his €8m move from Fluminense.

The Brazilian is tall, strong and quick and can operate off either flank in attack as well as being proficient in the middle.

“They play with speed, dribbling and good passing. I think I can fit in well with that,” he said after completing the move.

Betis fans will certainly hope so.

Yéremy Pino (Villarreal)

You have probably heard about the 19-year-old winger already, considering he scored four goals one game last season, the 5-1 win over Espanyol.

He became the youngest player to score a hat-trick in the first half of a LaLiga match that day, following on from becoming the youngest Spanish player to start a European final during the Europa League win in 2021.

This year, expect Pino to fully explode.

The winger is adept at coming inside on to his right foot and causing havoc but his eye for goal has all the potential for the makings of a centre forward. Pino is also surprisingly strong at scoring headed goals for a player standing at 5’8″.

Gavi (Barcelona)

We know tipping Gavi to be a standout player is hardly a hot take but with all the new additions at Camp Nou this summer perhaps the teenager’s ability has been forgotten slightly.

The midfielder broke into the first team last season and his incredible breakthrough campaign also ended in an international call-up.

“He’s like an erupting volcano,” Spain manager Luis Enrique described him after the Nations League game with Czech Republic in June.

“It’s very difficult not to fall in love with Gavi. Any fan wants to see him play.”

Nico Serrano (Athletic Club)

Athletic Club regularly produce diamonds from within their youth ranks – their Basque only policy relies on it.

And while there is a lot of noise about his namesake Nico Williams (Iñaki’s brother), we believe it is also worth keeping track of Serrano.

The 19-year-old winger has a low centre of gravity, is just as capable of coming inside off the right flank on to his left foot as he is causing trouble out wide.

After 14 LaLiga appearances last time out, this year could be his breakthrough campaign.

Mohamed-Ali Cho (Real Sociedad)

The former Everton youth prospect caught the eye in Ligue 1 for Angers last season, scoring four times after an abundance of substitute appearances.

Sociedad paid €11m for the 18-year-old this summer which suggests there could be a plan to throw him in to the first team from the off.

Nimble across the ground, deceptively strong and lightning quick – La Real have the possible future of French football on their hands.
