Huddersfield Town have made the decision to part ways with Darren Moore following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with QPR.

Moore joined the club in September, but lasted just four months in charge due to the poor run of form that has lasted since his arrival.

The Terriers have not won any of their last five league games, including three draws in a row.

This has left the Yorkshire side sitting 21st in the Championship table, just three points clear of the drop zone.

Moore replaced Neil Warnock earlier this campaign, with new owner Kevin Nagle deciding the 49-year-old was the veteran's long-term successor - his sacking though now means a third permanent manager of the season is now needed.

John Eustace

Eustace is currently available following his departure from Birmingham City earlier in the campaign.

The 44-year-old earned a lot of plaudits for his work with the Blues before being controversially dismissed in October.

He was replaced with Wayne Rooney despite the team sitting sixth in the table, with the former England star only lasting 13 weeks in charge at St. Andrew’s.

Eustace would be a good fit for Huddersfield, and could help turn around their form to help the club avoid relegation.

This would be a real coup if they can pull it off, as Eustace’s work at Birmingham showed he can get an under-performing team firing.

Gary Rowett

Rowett has plenty of Championship experience and knows what it takes to keep a team in the division.

The 49-year-old’s time at Millwall recently came to an anticlimactic end, but his work with the Lions was impressive up until his departure.

Rowett had the London club competing for promotion to the Premier League despite limited resources, and had the supporters behind the team.

He would be a smart appointment to turn things around at the John Smith's Stadium, and has shown he can be a long-term appointment at a time when Huddersfield have been cycling through managers far too frequently.

Nathan Jones

Jones has been out of work for almost a full year since departing Southampton during their final campaign in the Premier League.

The former Luton Town boss was pivotal in their rise to the top flight, even if he wasn’t in charge when promotion was secured, and the Welshman's work with the Hatters shows that he has the potential to be quite a successful coach.

However, his work at the likes of Southampton and Stoke City does raise questions over his suitability to other clubs.

If Huddersfield can provide him with the right environment then he could be a very shrewd appointment, but there are risks involved in bringing him in.

The Terriers may need to move quickly to secure Jones, has he has also been linked with the current vacancy at Charlton Athletic but a Championship job coming up could make him reconsider.

Alex Neil

Neil is another coach with plenty of Championship experience that knows what it takes to make a team competitive at this level.

His most recent stint at Stoke wasn’t his best work, but that was a squad that saw major overhaul and bedding in that many at once was no easy task.

He has previously enjoyed success at Sunderland, gaining promotion with the Black Cats from League One.

The 42-year-old has also spent time with Preston North End and Norwich City, where he has shown he has what it takes to coach at this level, so could be what Huddersfield need to avoid relegation to the third tier.
