Tijuana’s Liga MX clash with Juárez has been postponed after a massive COVID-19 outbreak in the hosts’ camp.
The sides were due to meet in Round 11 of Guard1anes 2020, but league officials were forced to act after 30 positive tests were reported.
According to TUDN, 14 players from Xolos tested positive, while 16 members of the backroom team and club staff were also found to have the virus in their systems.
Some of those who tested positive have displayed symptoms. All the effected individuals are now in isolation and being monitored by Tijuana’s medical staff.
The game itself has been rescheduled to 30 September at Estadio Caliente.
Other games will also be affected by Saturday’s postponement.
The Round 12 match between Santos and Tijuana has been postponed, and details regarding its rescheduling have yet to be released.
Juárez’s Round 13 fixture against Pachuca will now take place on Monday, 5 October at the Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez.
