Barry Bannan opened the scoring for the hosts inside a minute, with Josh Windass netting a brace to continue what has been an excellent run of form.

Here, we take a look at three things that we clearly learnt about the Owls after their convening victory over Morecambe…

Forward line causes havoc

Josh Windass netted twice last night as he took his tally to nine league goals, whilst he has also managed a further seven assists.

The pacey attacker worked very well alongside Michael Smith as the pair caused havoc for the Morecambe defence from minute one.

Smith and Windass have shown an excellent understanding when playing together and they could be an important partnership as the Owls chase down promotion.

Not only are the pair fantastic at League One level, but you would think if promotion was achieved, the duo could thrive in the Championship.

Darren Moore is the current manager?

True False

Cameron Dawson impresses amidst limited activity

Possessing an excellent backline ahead of him, it proved to be a quiet evening for Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Cameron Dawson, however, he was alert on a couple of occasions where he was tested.

Starting the last eight league games for the Owls now, after playing a deputy role at the start of the campaign, the 27-year-old has kept six clean sheets and has only conceded three goals in that time.

The Wednesday shot-stopper is now being rewarded after showing good levels of patience in recent times and will be eager to keep hold of the number one top.

Dennis Adeniran proves his versatility

Dennis Adeniran has managed to return from a long-term injury in strong form and he was once again very good yesterday evening.

Deployed in a rather unfamiliar right-wing-back position, the 24-year-old was a source of energy and positivity on the flank, whilst he met his defensive challenges with no fuss at all.

Not only did he do a job in what was a new position for him, but he also managed to put in a display that could force Moore to consider him as a right-wing-back option in future games.
