Queens Park Rangers had yet another tough afternoon in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Indeed, away at strugglers Huddersfield, the R’s will have known that a tough clash awaited them and so it turned out to be at the John Smith’s Stadium.

It was a quick start for the visitors, though, with January signing Jamal Lowe giving the R’s the lead in just the 13th minute of the match.

Unfortunately for Neil Critchley’s side, though, they could not hold onto that lead even until half time , with another January recruit, Martyn Waghorn, finding an equaliser for the home side six minutes before the break.

In the end, the game ended 1-1, with no goals scored by either side in the second half.

With that said, below, we’ve discussed three QPR talking points arising from the match.

Another draw

Unfortunately, with yet another winless match, QPR’s poor run of form is once again highlighted.

The R’s have just one win in their last ten matches, which, for a side that were right up there in the play-off spots in the first half of the season is simply not good enough.

Indeed, frustratingly, half of those matches have been draws and not defeats, too, suggesting they are not far from getting wins, but simply can’t get them over the line.

Due to the congested nature of the Championship, at present, the R’s remain only five points off the play-off places, but if they don’t turn things around soon, that gap will only increase in the coming weeks.

Lowe a positive

Despite their poor run of form, one positive in yesterday’s match was January recruit Jamal Lowe getting on the scoresheet once again.

It was the second time the forward had netted since his arrival, taking his direct goal contributions to three in four matches also having recently registered an assist.

Lowe’s arrival comes in good time, too, with Lyndon Dykes unfortunately out of action.

The R’s boss will want his centre-forward better and recovered ASAP but in the meantime, Lowe is showing why the club were right to bring him in last month.

Critchley remains confident

Despite the club’s poor form of late, we learnt that boss Neil Critchley still has full confidence in his side’s ability to turn things around.

Indeed, after the match, the R’s boss claimed he had seen enough to suggest that if the dressing room stays together, they can win plenty of matches.

“I’ve seen enough in the group to know that if we just stay calm and stay together then we’ll win games – and there’s plenty of games left and points still to play for.” the R’s boss told the media, via West London Sport.

“A couple of wins would change things very quickly. Momentum is a big thing in this division.

“Most teams have a sticky spell and ours is now. It’s up to us now to stick together.”

Only time will tell if his assessment proves to be accurate.
