Sevilla have sealed a deal to keep one of the key pieces of their summer rebuild at the club, after a breakout season for Isaac Romero. The 24-year-old will sign a new deal for the next four years.
As per Relevo, Sevilla have closed a deal and even carried out the photo shoot for Romero’s renewal, as Sporting Director Victor Orta moves to carry out major changes to the Sevilla squad this summer. Romero came into the team under Quique Sanchez Flores in January, and until an injury in April, became a key part of the side. His release clause will rise to €40m too. His agent’s initial demands of €2.6m per annum have been reduced significantly.
Romero was a key reason that Sevilla have turned things around under Sanchez Flores, scoring six goals and providing four assists in just 16 appearances, forming a lethal partnership with Youssouf En-Nesyri. There is a good chance the Moroccan moves on this summer, but Romero will not.
