After Real Madrid’s commanding 4-1 win over Espanyol, Rodrygo has expressed his desire for the team to remain unbeaten throughout the entire season.
“It’s harder than it seems, there are a lot of games but we want much more and to go the whole season without losing. We’re going to try.” said the forward after the match as reported by Mundu Deportivo.
Reflecting on the match, the Brazilian forward highlighted that although Real Madrid secured a solid victory, the squad still faces some internal challenges, particularly in the way they handle the first half of games.
He said that Carlo Ancelotti was “a little angry” with their first-half performance, as they only managed to score in the second half once again.
However, Rodrygo acknowledged the team’s ability to recover and push for a strong finish, turning the game around at the Santiago Bernabeu to earn a convincing victory.
“Winning with this shirt is always very important and it’s our objective. It was a difficult game.
“The manager is a bit angry with us because we only score goals in the second half. Today we conceded a goal but we were calm enough to score,” he added.

Rodrygo admitted that it wasn’t an easy match, especially after conceding a goal. Yet, the squad remained composed, allowing them to fight back and secure the win.
Rodrygo, who scored the second goal that helped Real Madrid turn the tide, expressed his satisfaction with his personal performance. He also showed appreciation for his fellow Brazilian, Vinicius Jr, who provided the pass to assist him.
“I feel very good. The season is just beginning and on a personal level, I feel good physically and mentally, which is more important. Always ready to help the team.
“We have a great atmosphere, there is a lot of respect between everyone who has the same objective and is focused. Vini’s assist was spectacular, like Luka Modric. He is getting better at that pass and I thank him for his assist,” he noted.
Lastly, the forward touched on the unity within the squad, noting the mutual respect shared by all the players, who are driven by the same goals.
With the team’s unbeaten streak now extending to 38 games in La Liga, Rodrygo expressed the squad’s ambition to maintain this run for the rest of the season.
