A key member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is expected to sit out the club’s meeting with Cádiz this weekend.

That’s according to the reliable Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, who has on Wednesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes at Valdebebas.

Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are currently in the process of preparations for a return to domestic action on Saturday afternoon.

Fresh off a 2-2 stalemate with German heavyweights Bayern Munich in the Champions League in midweek, Real face the altogether less daunting prospect of a La Liga clash with relegation-battling Cádiz.

Despite the fact that a victory could see them crowned Spanish champions on Saturday evening, the Blancos coaching staff are expected to opt for a whole host of changes to the starting XI, ahead of next week’s return leg showdown with Bayern.

One player, though, who looks set to be unavailable for selection either way, comes in the form of Aurélien Tchouaméni.

As per a report from the aforementioned Guillermo Rai, France international Tchouaméni picked up a ‘knock’ on his left foot in training this week.

Though it is assured that the problem is not a ‘serious’ one, the 24-year-old nevertheless looks set to sit out against Cádiz, as a precaution.
