Real Madrid receive Alphonso Davies boost – immediate exit from Bayern Munich moves closer | OneFootball

Real Madrid have a long-term interest in Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, and while he has been in talks with the Bavarian giants over a new deal, it looks as if he is set on joining Los Blancos. The news coming out of Bavaria is that it will be this summer.

It has been no secret that Real Madrid are willing to wait for Davies to arrive next year on a free, with Ferland Mendy performing admirably this year. They are willing to part with €30-35m depending on various reports to sign Davies this year, but so far Bayern have been steadfast over a €50m price tag.

According to Kicker reporter Georg Holzner though, the ‘clear trend’ is that Davies is likely to leave the club this summer rather than next. That will no doubt require a compromise from Bayern Munich on his price tag.

A number of sources have confirmed that Real Madrid agreed personal terms with Davies as far back as March, which left Bayern in a weak position. If Davies does arrive, it would be an interesting development, as they negotiate a new contract for Ferland Mendy. Carlo Ancelotti, who is a fan of Mendy, could claim to have the best defensive left-back in the world, and the best attacking left-back in the world.
