South Korea first-hand with Mathys Tel! The 19-year-old striker gives us a daily account of his experiences on the Audi Summer Tour 2024 on our website fcbayern.com and in the FC Bayern app. In his diary, Tel takes you behind the scenes in Seoul.

Hi guys! I hope you're all well.

It's Mathys here. I'm keeping a diary for you during our Korea tour to keep you up to date as best I can. This is my first entry, as we left for Seoul today.

In addition to lots of events, we can also expect intensive training sessions there - in temperatures well above 30 degrees. That's why Wednesday was a good day to familiarise ourselves, because we trained at Säbener Straße in the morning before flying to South Korea. It was just as hot there 😄. We mainly practised tactical elements; it's just so much fun to be back on the pitch after the summer break.

Focusing on Seoul: On Wednesday morning, Tel & Co. practised various match situation drills in perfect weather in Munich. Now it's off to Asia.

After lunch with my teammates, I finished packing my suitcase and then we took the team bus to the airport in the north of Munich. I've never been to South Korea before. I'm really excited, it's going to be a great experience. Apart from the trip itself and the friendly against Spurs on Saturday, I'm most looking forward to meeting the Asian fans. Hope to see you there! 🇰🇷

We now have an 11-hour flight. Generally speaking, it has to be said that the trips here at Bayern are always well organised, so we can focus completely on ourselves as a team. I think I'll chill out on the flight and get plenty of sleep. The next few days will of course be tough. We're scheduled to land in Seoul at 3:30 CEST (10:30am in South Korea). Wonder if I'll see any South Korean fans as soon as we arrive. Tomorrow, Thursday, we'll train for the first time with jet lag and then I'll report back with the first entry from South Korea. So, catch you tomorrow: À plus!

Mathys

Tomorrow, Thursday, we'll be back with part 2 of Mathys Tel's diary. How did the Frenchman cope with the long flight and what are his first impressions of Asia? The Audi Summer Tour is now really gathering pace!
