‘Offered Reduced Terms’ – Star Set To Depart Millwall | OneFootball

Championship side Millwall are set to lose an experienced midfielder who had been ‘offered reduced terms’ and is now moving on from the Den, according to journalist Richard Cawley.

Alex Neil has just penned a new contract with Millwall and the club are looking to shape the squad to his liking over the course of the summer.

A number of players are out of contract at Millwall this summer, including George Honeyman, Danny McNamara and George Saville, and talks have been held over keeping them.

Now experienced midfielder Saville is all set to depart Millwall after being ‘offered reduced terms’ to stay at the club.

The 32-year-old has decided to go elsewhere and it means the end of a lengthy association with the Lions.

Saville was on the books at Millwall on a permanent basis from 2017 until 2019 and then again from 2021 after a spell at Middlesbrough.

He featured heavily for the club last season, making a whopping 49 appearances across all competitions.

Available on a free transfer, the Northern Ireland international is sure to have a number of offers on his table.

It remains to be seen if he will stay in the Championship or turn out in a different division, or even country, next term.

Having also had two loan spells at Millwall, Saville will leave the club only nine appearances short of the 250 milestone.

Elsewhere, Millwall boss Neil will be hoping he can keep hold of defender Japhet Tanganga, who has a release clause in his deal for Premier League sides.

Tanganga has caught the eye with his performances for Millwall in the Championship and the former Tottenham Hotspur man continues to be highly rated.

Millwall could also find themselves tested for Mihailo Ivanovic, who is being considered as a possible signing by Premier League outfit Wolves.

The Lions managed to finish in eighth spot in the Championship last term and just two points off the final playoff spot.
