Montenegro head coach Robert Prosinecki believes Petar Sucic will be one of the pillars of a new era at Inter Milan.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Prosinecki waxed lyrical about the former Dinamo Zagreb star.
Indeed, the 21-year-old delivered a superb performance in Inter’s 5-0 rout of Torino at San Siro.
Sucic excelled both offensively and defensively, showcasing his ability to win the ball and dictate play from midfield.
Furthermore, he picked up an assist, teeing up Marcus Thuram for Inter’s second goal.
By the looks of things, he will be one of Cristian Chivu’s most trusted allies this season.
However, competition for places at San Siro remains fierce, with several long-serving stalwarts vying for a starting spot.
Therefore, Sucic cannot take anything for granted despite a strong start.
Meanwhile, Prosinecki is confident the Croatian midfielder will establish himself as a key figure in Inter’s midfield.

“Those who haven’t followed him in Balkan football, or see him as a modest guy who doesn’t like to stand out, might be surprised,” Prosinecki said.
“Sucic is exactly as he has shown in this Inter start: a complete, international midfielder capable of starting for a big club like Inter.
“He naturally plays as a box-to-box midfielder, as you’ve seen – able to win the ball and think forward.
“But he often played in a two-man midfield, so he can easily act as a deep-lying playmaker.
“Inter has found a player who can cover every midfield role, and I’m sure Sucic will become a pillar of the new era.
“Many clubs wanted him. But he made the right choice to join a team that has historically had a great connection with Croatian players.
“Petar is still developing, including physically and in terms of strength. But in the end, I think he could even become stronger.
“Like Marcelo Brozovic, he runs tirelessly, covers defensively, and finds the right pass, but he belongs to a later generation.
“He was trained in a different style of football and can provide greater consistency.”
