Monaco’s Denis Zakaria subject of lucrative Saudi approach | OneFootball

Denis Zakaria is a key player at AS Monaco, symbolised by his role as club captain. However, before the end of the transfer window, he may leave the club, according to a report from Foot Mercato.

Zakaria started for Les Monégasques in their opening day win over Le Havre AC. The Swiss international has excelled at the heart of Monaco’s midfield, since making the move two summers ago.

However, he is now the subject of an approach from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli. Foot Mercato understands that there is an agreement in place between the two clubs. This has been denied by L’Équipe, who nonetheless confirm the Saudi side’s interest in the player, as well as the existence of club-to-club talks. A fee of around €45m has been touted for the club captain. Given the club’s difficulty in raising funds through player sales this summer, it is a figure that is difficult to turn down for Monaco.
