This weekend, the Kansas City Current and the Houston Dash will meet for the first time in the NWSL this season in a clash of teams occupying opposite ends of the table.
The Dash finished last in 2024, and although they are trying to revamp this season, still have a mountain to climb. They enter Saturday's fixture in 10th place.
Meanwhile, Kansas City is still perfect with four wins from four, sitting second behind the 2024 NWSL Champion Orlando Pride only on goal difference.
On the surface, this is a David and Goliath matchup. However, neither team will present the overall personality traits of either, with Houston's talent level much improved and Kansas City’s typical diligence and work rate worthy of the pluckiest of underdogs.
This should be a fun match. Here is some information about the game between the Kansas City Current and the Houston Dash.

Both teams should put out strong Starting XIs for this game. The Current has been more consistent with their formation and who plays, while the Dash has been switching things up, trying to find the sweet spot that will lead them to more wins.
Lorena - Izzy Rodriguez, Kayla Sharples, Alana Cook, Ellie Wheeler - Claire Hutton, Lo’eau LaBonta, Michelle Cooper - Temwa Chawinga, Debinha, Vanessa DiBernardo
Jane Campbell - Maggie Graham, Katie Lind, Paige Nielsen - Ryan Gareis, Delanie Sheehan, Danielle Colaprico, Christen Westphal – Yazmeen Ryan, Diana Ordóñez, Bárbara Olivieri
Houston might be an improved team this year, but there is no question that Kansas City has a drastic edge entering the fixture. Hence, it is easy to predict that the home team will win 3-0. The Dash will play better than expected on the pitch, but the talented forwards of the Current will ultimately lead them to the win.
