Juventus are exploring a mutual contract termination as the primary path to separate from Dusan Vlahovic, as reported by Bianconera News and Sky Sport’s Gianluca Di Marzio. The club intends to offer the Serbian striker and his representatives a proposal allowing him to become a free agent immediately, relieving Juventus of more than €20 million in gross wages still owed on his deal.
Such a move, however, comes with financial repercussions. Vlahovic’s book value would stand at approximately €19.5 million as of June 2025, so a termination would result in a significant capital loss on the balance sheet. Juventus would need to address this shortfall directly, likely requiring additional funds from ownership to balance the accounts.
The intent behind the proposed resolution is clear: Juventus would prefer to part ways with Vlahovic now, rather than risk losing him for nothing at the end of his contract or continuing to pay his salary. The club’s stance reflects frustration with what they see as an unsustainable wage for a player whose recent output has not matched their expectations, and they are aiming to avoid paying out the final year of his contract.
Vlahovic’s camp, for its part, is reportedly holding firm. The striker has received offers in recent months, but has shown little willingness to lower his salary expectations. The prevailing strategy appears to be to remain at Juventus until his contract expires in 2026, potentially maximizing his leverage for a future move. As a result, negotiations remain tense, with no sign of a quick or amicable resolution.
Meanwhile, speculation continues to swirl regarding possible destinations. Former executive Pierpaolo Marino, speaking to RAI2, confirmed that Milan retain a genuine interest, suggesting a high-priced loan could be a realistic formula given the player’s contract status. Marino posited that Allegri’s opinion could influence Vlahovic’s thinking and left the door open for negotiations between the clubs, particularly now that Vlahovic will soon be inside his final contract year.
Despite outside proposals, the current impasse is driven by economics. Juventus seem resolved to find a solution before next season, while Vlahovic appears content to stick to his contract. The outcome may hinge on whether the player softens his salary demands or a suitor is willing to meet both his wage expectations and Juventus’s need to avoid a capital loss.
