Olympique de Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi today confirmed that new signings Facundo Medina and Igor Paixão are set to miss out on Les Olympiens’ opening fixture of the 2025-2026 season away to Stade Rennais on Friday evening. At a press conference attended by Get French Football News, the Italian coach confirmed that Brazilian winger Paixão is still recovering from a thigh injury, whilst former Lens defender Medina is set to miss out due to suspension. “The rest are all fit,” added De Zerbi.“We have a few options with Egan-Riley Cornelius, Kondogbia, Murillo, Garcia… I still have some doubts, I’ll decide by tomorrow,” De Zerbi later responded when asked if CJ Egan-Riley will start with Balerdi in a central two.
