Fortaleza have completed the registration of three new signings—forward Adam Bareiro, goalkeeper Vinicius Silvestre, and left-back Weverson—making all available for selection in Saturday’s home match against Bahia, according to Globo and NE45. The moves come as the club looks to arrest a dismal run in Série A, with new manager Renato Paiva set to take charge for the first time.
Adam Bareiro, a centre-forward, and Vinicius Silvestre, recently signed from the Portuguese top flight, have both had their details published in the Brazilian Football Confederation’s daily registration bulletin. This ensures Paiva has added depth in attack and a crucial reinforcement in goal. The urgency to bolster the goalkeeping position became critical after João Ricardo and Brenno were ruled out through injury and surgery, leaving the team short on experienced options.
Vinicius Silvestre, who has joined on a contract until the end of 2026, has been formally announced by the club. The 31-year-old brings experience from spells at both Palmeiras and, most recently, in Portugal. He will compete for the starting role right away, with first-choice keepers sidelined.
Up front, Bareiro joins the competition for the striker’s role, potentially lining up alongside or in rotation with Lucero and Deyverson. Both forwards are expected to play significant roles as Paiva looks to find solutions to the side’s lack of goals.
The squad has also been strengthened on the left side of defence. Weverson, whose move from Arouca was confirmed on Thursday, is registered and set to debut if selected. The 25-year-old, a former São Paulo and RB Bragantino player, signed until 2026, with an option for a further two years. He arrives having featured 63 times in Portugal, tallying two goals and four assists. Fortaleza sporting director Sérgio Papellin described the move as an “opportunity in the market”, highlighting a need for additional options given concerns over injuries in the left-back position, which already includes Bruno Pacheco and Diogo Barbosa.
All three arrivals come at a time when Fortaleza are enduring a poor run—they sit at the bottom of the table with 10 points and have lost six straight matches. The club have moved quickly not just in the transfer market, but also with the appointment of Paiva, tasked with steering the side clear of relegation danger.
Preparations have intensified ahead of Bahia’s visit, with the new signings poised to play a role in resetting the campaign’s course and offering Paiva a broader set of options as he begins his tenure in the dugout.
