According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy international Gigio Donnarumma was the best player on the pitch for PSG on Wednesday despite a 1-0 loss against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the Champions League semis.

Donnarumma’s PSG suffered a 1-0 loss to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night which means the Ligue 1 giants must win in the second leg next week to join the winner between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final.

Despite PSG’s loss, Italy international Donnarumma was the MOTM for the French side last night, according to Gazzetta.

The Pink Paper’s correspondent Alessandro Grandesso rated Gigio 7/10, more than any other PSG player, writing that the Italian shot-stopper could do nothing to avoid Niclas Füllkrug’s winner but produced two key saves to deny Marcel Sabitzer in the first half.

Donnarumma has been often criticised by fans and media this season but conceded just 36 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions with PSG, keeping 16 clean sheets.
