Chelsea complete treble with FA Cup final victory over Manchester United | OneFootball

Chelsea have completed a domestic treble by defeating Manchester United 3-0 in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley this afternoon.

Sandy Baltimore netted a brace while Catarina Macário was also on target for The Blues as they won back the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, completing another historic treble in the process.

Trophy holders Manchester United started brightly and Grace Clinton saw an early effort deflected wide.

At the other end, Aggie Beever-Jones cleverly beat Millie Turner before failing to capitalise with her resulting shot.

Both sides then had golden chances to break the deadlock but were unable to take advantage. First, Dominique Janssen blazed over when in a good position to score before Manchester United keeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce blocked the ball with her feet off the back of a dangerous move from Mayra Ramírez.

Tullis-Joyce then kept out a curling Beever-Jones effort before Chelsea won a penalty when Celin Bizet Ildhusøy fouled Erin Cuthbert in the box. Baltimore stepped up to the spot and successfully slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

Manchester United came out for the second half in determined fashion but both Elisabeth Terland and Ella Toone could only direct shots straight at Chelsea keeper Hannah Hampton.

At the other end, Gabby George wasn’t far away from putting a cross into her own net before Beever-Jones ballooned an effort over from the edge of the box. Second half substitute Macário then headed home from a free-kick to make it 2-0 before Baltimore fired in from close range to complete the scoring for The Blues.

Chelsea end the season as domestic treble winners for just the second time in their history.
