The final of Euro 2024 will kick off late on Sunday night in Berlin, and it will be Spain who take on England in the decisive game.

Real Madrid will have representatives on both sides of the field on the night, with Jude Bellingham featuring for the Three Lions while Dani Carvajal steps up for La Roja.

The Spanish full-back did not play a part in Spain’s semifinal win over France through suspension but is expected to return to the starting lineup for the final on Sunday. He has one goal to his name in the tournament and has been rock-solid at right-back.

Carvajal praises Rodri

Speaking to the media earlier today, the Real Madrid superstar showered praise on his compatriot Rodri and revealed that he often urged the Spanish midfielder to join Los Blancos.

“I tell Rodri every day to sign for Real Madrid.”

“I tell him every day to leave Manchester, that there is no sun there and to come to Madrid that we need him,” he added, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano.

The defender then revealed that while Rodri often turned him down citing his contract in England, he would be a good fit into Carlo Ancelotti’s system.

“He tells me he has a contract but he would be perfect for us.”

Stellar at the Euros

Luis de La Fuente’s side have been the best team by far at the ongoing Euros, and Rodri has been one of the key pillars behind the team’s success.

Playing as La Roja’s bona fide pivot, the Manchester City star is the fulcrum of the team. While he may not directly contribute to goals much, his importance in Spain’s stability cannot be overstated.

The 28-year-old has played every minute of the five games for Spain, averaging over 11 defensive actions and seven ball recoveries per game. Further, his pass accuracy stands at an impressive 94%.

There have been talks of Real Madrid wanting Rodri as a possible replacement for Toni Kroos, but nothing is concrete at this point. Furthermore, a transfer would be hard to pull off given his importance to Manchester City.
