An update on the latest plans of Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen when it comes to his future with the club has been forthcoming online.
And the news will no doubt come as a major surprise to those of a Blaugrana persuasion.
This comes amid confirmation that, despite the ongoing drama surrounding his name, Ter Stegen has not given up hope of reestablishing himself as a key figure in Hansi Flick’s squad…
Developments behind the scenes at the Camp Nou have of course dominated the headlines across all of Spain over the course of the day to date.
As much comes after the Barcelona brass finally pulled the trigger on their decision to strip Ter Stegen of the club’s captain’s armband.
The shot-stopper’s refusal to sign off on a medical report regarding his recent surgery marked the final straw for Joan Laporta and co.
The understandable assumption, in turn, has since been that Ter Stegen’s Blaugrana career can be considered as all but over.
As alluded to above, however, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then the 33-year-old himself is of an altogether different mindset.
As per a report from Cadena SER, in fact:
‘Ter Stegen remains committed: he wants to fully recover from his injury, compete for a starting spot again, and remain Barcelona captain.’
