Barcelona have known about key player’s desire to depart ‘for a few days’ | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have been aware of defender Iñigo Martínez’s intention to depart the club for several days now.

That’s according to Blaugrana insider Gerard Romero, who has on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.

The name of stopper Iñigo has of course suddenly emerged as an altogether prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent hours.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the Spaniard is closing on something of a shock departure from Barcelona.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, for one, are understood to be pushing hard for Iñigo’s signature.

As alluded to above, though, if ensuing reports stemming from the Spanish press are anything to go by, then news of as much will come as no major surprise to those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou.

As per a report from Barca journalist Gerard Romero:

‘Barça have known for a few days. It frees up a lot of salary space, but the transfer fee won’t be much.’
