Ryan Gravenberch faces a slightly uncertain future as the Liverpool midfielder heads into the summer and Arne Slot prepares to take over.

Ryan Gravenberch has been linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer, with reports in Turkey suggesting Galatasaray are interested. It's a little inevitable that there are links, too, given a difficult first season at Anfield.

Even when Liverpool were flying, Gravenberch was inconsistent and hasn't had quite the impact many hoped for. At the same time, the Dutchman is still a very young player and one whose potential outweighs the need for immediate displays.

And it's potential Liverpool will hope to find. Florian Plettenberg explains that Gravenberch has no desire to leave Anfield this summer and is instead looking to impress incoming manager, Arne Slot.

"Ryan Gravenberch currently has no intention of leaving Liverpool in the summer!" Plettenberg wrote on X.

"A move to Turkey is not planned. He feels comfortable at LFC and wants to prove himself under the new coach in the upcoming season.

"Contract valid until 2028. 4 goals and 2 assists this season in 35 appearances."

Impressing Slot is now the most important thing for nearly every player in the Liverpool squad. They'll want to position themselves strongly ahead of the new season.

And Gravenberch is one of those in a different position to most. Slot will now all about his compatriot, after all - he'll have a pretty firm idea in his head of what the midfielder is capable of.

Maybe that works for Gravenberch, or maybe that works against him. Either way, he doesn't have the blank slate that many will have.

Gravenberch only turns 22 next month, which is still incredibly young for a player who has had the career he has. Especially as his position is one where you wouldn't expect him to peak for another four or five years.

That peak may or may not be at Liverpool - the next year will give us an idea, though. And just how much he impresses the incoming manager is a huge factor in that.
