Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott has found his form as the season draws to a close.

The 21-year-old has a goal and two assists across his last four Premier League games, delivering a five-star showing in the weekend win against Tottenham.

His brilliant goal - a long-range effort curled into the top corner in front of the Kop - capped off a magnificent performance from Elliott, who looks like he could grow even more in stature under Arne Slot next season.

Elliott has played 117 times for Liverpool since joining from Fulham back in July 2019, scoring 10 times and giving 13 assists.

This season he has covered for Mohamed Salah on the right wing when the Egyptian has been injured but his future could well lie in the middle of the pitch.

Big-money summer signings Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch have been left on the bench recently as Elliott roams around the central playmaking positions, suggesting the £4.3 million man could well have a role to play in that sector going forward.

And now his output in the position has been compared to Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard by two-time Champions League-winning midfielder Owen Hargreaves.

The Gunners’ skipper has long been regarded as one of the Premier League’s top creators, and the 25-year-old has weighed in with 11 goals and nine assists across all competitions this season.

Hargreaves: Elliott 'gets the picture'

"When you get into certain positions on a pitch, you have pictures,” Hargreaves said on Premier League Productions.

"If you are there, left-footed, he is going to whip that to the back post. I love Harvey Elliott. I think he could be like an Odegaard for Liverpool. I don’t see him as a wide player. I see him central.

"When he gets into here (central playmaking position), he gets a picture. The top players do. He knows: ‘I am going to whip that into the top corner’.

"It sounds easy and he made it look easy. It’s a brilliant finish from a fabulous young player. Absolutely fabulous."
