Real Madrid will lock horns with Pachuca in their second Group H encounter of the FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday night.
Having drawn their first game of the Xabi Alonso era earlier in the week, Los Blancos must bag all three points tomorrow against the Mexican outfit to secure a spot in the Round of 16.
However, for the second game in a row, Real Madrid will be without key forward and top goalscorer Kylian Mbappe, as he continues his recovery from acute gastroenteritis.
Ahead of the game, Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso spoke to DAZN and provided an update on Mbappe’s condition.
“Mbappe is feeling a little better,” said the Real Madrid manager in what will come as a big relief for the fans.

However, Alonso went on to confirm that the 26-year-old attacker will be unavailable for the Pachuca game, while expressing hope that he could recover in time for next week’s clash vs RB Salzburg.
“It will be difficult for him to play against Pachuca. We hope to be able to count on him against Salzburg,” Alonso noted.
This will come as a boost for Real Madrid considering that reports earlier today suggested Mbappe might not be available for both group fixtures and will only be back in the knockout stages.
Having joined the club last summer, the 26-year-old forward has become an important player and his return, potentially against Salzburg, will come as a big boost for Alonso & co.
