Two headline members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid will play no part in the club’s next outing at the Club World Cup.
That’s according to Blancos insider Miguel Ángel Díaz of COPE, who points towards Kylian Mbappé and Dani Carvajal as the pair in question.
Frontman Mbappé was of course forced to sit out in midweek, as Real Madrid got their Club World Cup campaign up and running with a 1-1 draw with Al-Hilal.
This came owing to a bout of illness, from which the Frenchman is yet to fully recover.
Defender Carvajal, meanwhile, has been sidelined since all the way back in October of last year, after suffering a torn ACL.
The Spanish international had been spotted ramping up his recovery efforts over the last week, giving rise to murmurs that he could even be included in Xabi Alonso’s squad to face Pachuca on Sunday.
As alluded to above, though, according to Miguel Ángel Díaz, neither Carvajal nor Mbappé will be cleared in time for matchday duties this weekend.
