Wide-man Lamine is for his part of course fresh off kicking his 2025/26 campaign into gear in style on Saturday night.

Afforded a starting berth in Barcelona’s La Liga opener against Mallorca, the 18-year-old laid on his side’s first goal, before rounding out the scoring in a 3-0 win courtesy of a brilliant left-footed strike.

Such excellence, despite his tender years, has become almost expected of Lamine at this point, with the Spanish international already widely considered to be amongst the very best players in world football.

And as alluded to above, one individual who could not help but be impressed by Lamine’s latest showing was the aforementioned Steve McManaman.

Speaking on Premier Sports (as cited by Diario Sport) in the aftermath of Saturday’s Son Moix clash, former Real Madrid standout McManaman explained:

“We already spoke about him at the beginning of the match. We already talked about him last year. He is the crack of the league, what he did with his last touch of the game was absolutely brilliant.

“He has the ability to move to the left, where he is strong, but also to go to the right. He has everything at the moment and he’s going to improve.

“What a player we have on our hands. It’s an absolute joy to come here and watch him play.”
