It is not yet clear if Bournemouth will agree to loan out Rangers target Max Aarons without an obligation to buy, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Gers are looking to be ambitious in the transfer window, as they are desperately looking to compete with Celtic and hand Russell Martin the players he needs to make his system work.

Prior to his appointment as boss, one former Scottish Premiership star explained the current Rangers squad cannot play the Martin way.

The new ownership regime at Ibrox in the shape of the 49ers, will need to bring in the players Martin wants and he is looking to land Aarons from Bournemouth.

The Glasgow giants have multiple profiles of players they want to get through the door, and getting a right-sided full-back looks to be high on their agenda.

Rangers are eyeing Aarons on a loan deal, as they look to watch their spending and get the maximum value for every penny spent.

The Premier League outfit, though, have made it clear that they would prefer to offload him permanently this summer.

And it has been suggested that it is still unclear if Andoni Iraola’s side will entertain a loan deal without an obligation to buy Aarons included in it.

The former England youth international was a bit part player in the first half of the previous season and then had a forgettable loan spell at Valencia in the second half of the campaign.

Now it remains to be seen if Rangers are willing to put in a convincing offer to the Cherries to complete a swoop for the 25-year-old.
