Umar Sadiq becomes owner of a club
Even as his destination for next season remains uncertain, Umar Sadiq has made a bold move by purchasing a football club.
The Nigerian striker from Real Sociedad is now co-owner of Rancher Bees FC, the historic Kaduna-based club, alongside Bello El-Rufai, a member of the Nigerian Parliament. Sadiq, who is not in Real Sociedad’s plans for the current season, was recently in Nigeria recovering from a minor injury. Taking advantage of his time back home, he decided to invest in his hometown club.
The objective is clear: bring Rancher Bees back to the top flight of Nigerian football, the NPFL, and establish an academy to nurture local young talent. Sadiq, who has also played for Almería and Valencia, is determined to restore the club’s former glory:
I am truly impressed by the fans’ passion and the unwavering support from the city of Kaduna.
Supporters already see this acquisition as the start of a golden new chapter for the club. Rancher Bees FC hopes to regain its shine thanks to Sadiq’s experience and vision.
