The release clause inserted into the contract of new Real Madrid signing Trent Alexander-Arnold has on Friday been revealed.

And it will no doubt serve in scaring off any and all potential suitors…

The name of defender Alexander-Arnold has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital across the day to date.

This comes after the long-awaited announcement of the England international’s move to Real Madrid was at last forthcoming.

As per a statement across Los Blancos’ website and social media platforms:

‘Real Madrid C. F. and Liverpool FC have reached an agreement to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold for the next six seasons, from 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2031.’

And as alluded to above, following swiftly on the back of this statement has been confirmation of TAA’s release clause at the Santiago Bernabéu.

As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Understand the release clause into Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract will be €1 billion.’
