Matteo Moretto confirms Juventus have made Sandro Tonali their ‘top’ summer target, but Newcastle have yet to make a final decision on the Italian midfielder’s future.
Transfer expert Matteo Moretto confirms that ex-Milan midfielder Tonali is a top target for Juventus.
The Bianconeri are planning to rebuild their squad in the summer and have already begun preliminary talks with Manchester United for Rasmus Hojlund.
As far as the midfield is concerned, Tonali has emerged as their priority target.
“Juventus have identified Tonali as a player who possesses the personality, the leadership and technical skills to receive the keys to their midfield in the future,” Moretto said on YouTube.

“At the same time, it’s correct to say that Newcastle haven’t yet made a decision on his future. They are fighting for the Champions League. Regardless of that, their request will be around €70-80 million, but at the same time, we still don’t know what Newcastle’s decision is on Tonali and whether they’ll open the door for his sale.
“It won’t be easy because negotiating with Newcastle is difficult. At the same time, Tonali is a top target for Juventus, but they have a long way to go.”
Tonali has played a key role for Newcastle this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.
A former Milan star, Tonali won the 2021-22 Serie A title with the Rossoneri and joined Newcastle in the summer of 2023.
The Italy international has earned an immediate starting spot for the Azzurri after the end of his betting ban, scoring his first two international goals in the current campaign.
Overall, Tonali has netted twice and provided four assists in 23 matches with the Italy national team.
