Newcastle United are at the centre of fresh transfer speculation as Juventus have reportedly made Sandro Tonali their top target for the upcoming summer window.

The Turin giants see Tonali as the ideal leader to shape their midfield for years to come. However, Newcastle have yet to decide on the 24-year-old’s future.

Juventus are preparing for a major squad overhaul, with plans already underway to strengthen across the pitch.

They also have Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund on their radar.

The Serie A giants have started preliminary talks to sign the Danish striker, although nothing is advanced yet. They may have Napoli to contend with in the long run.

While Hojlund is firmly on their summer shopping list, Juventus are focusing their attention on Tonali, with a midfield rebuild at the top of their to-do list.

Since joining Newcastle from AC Milan in 2023, Tonali has grown into one of Eddie Howe’s most indispensable players in the middle of the park.

The Italy international has featured 37 times across all competitions this season, returning four goals and two assists, including three goal contributions in the League Cup en route to a historic title triumph.

He has established one of the most solid midfield combinations in the Premier League alongside Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes.

Tonali’s defensive grit and playmaking ability blend seamlessly with Howe’s brand of football, and his influence is crucial to Newcastle’s bid to qualify for the Champions League.

However, his time in Tyneside might be shortlived amid reports that the midfielder might be open to returning to Italy in the summer.

Newcastle won’t let him leave on the cheap. The Magpies will likely demand a fee of around £60 million to even consider parting ways with Tonali.

Negotiations will be difficult, but Tonali could smoothen things over if he pushes for a summer exit from St James’ Park.
