Marcus Thuram was the first Inter player to publicly thank former head coach Simone Inzaghi for his services, following the confirmation that the 49-year-old has left the Nerazzurri by mutual consent.
Inzaghi has left his position as head coach of Inter, exactly four years to the day after he was appointed, just three days on from the 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
It is understood that Inzaghi will go on to take charge of Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in time for the start of the FIFA Club World Cup, with his first match expected to fall against Real Madrid on June 18.
A handful of Nerazzurri players sent public messages on social media in the immediate aftermath of Inzaghi’s departure.
Centre-forward Thuram was the first player from the Inter squad to express his gratitude.
“A great Mister, an even greater man,” Thuram’s latest Instagram post read.
“Thank you for the trust, advice, the moments we’ve had together and all the emotions experienced in this amazon adventure. It was a pleasure and honour to play under your guidance.
“Good luck for all that is to come. Thank you, Mister.”

Centre-back Yann Bisseck followed shortly afterwards with a message on his Instagram story, which read: “Thank you for everything Mister.”
Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu followed Bisseck’s message with a message on his Instagram story, which read: “Thank you, Mister. You always believed in me – on and off the pitch.
“Wishing you success on your new journey. Grateful for everything.”
