Chelsea are open to letting Marc Guiu leave on loan, but don’t want any buy option included according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues signed the Spaniard last summer from Barcelona after they activated the €6m release clause in his contract.

Guiu played a bit part role in his debut campaign, and made just three Premier League appearances, but fared better in the Conference League with six goals in seven appearances.

Chelsea open to loaning Marc Guiu

Guiu missed 20 games with a hamstring injury suffered in February last season, but did return as a substitute in the Conference League final.

However, the signings of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro have pushed Guiu further down the pecking order, and first team opportunities at Chelsea next season are going to be few and far between.

Guiu has reportedly rejected a loan move to the Championship, despite links with Ipswich, and Romano has now provided an update on the situation.

He took to X.com and said:

“Understand Chelsea have opened doors to loan move for Marc Guiu but no buy option will be included.

“The clear priority for Chelsea is loan in England, want Guiu to develop and play in England next season.”

The teenager has shown glimpses of the ability he has, and a loan in England with regular first team football would really help his development.

Questions over the future of Nicolas Jackson

Whilst Chelsea are open to letting Guiu leave on loan, speculation has continued in regard to Nicolas Jackson’s future.

Jackson has been linked with both Aston Villa and Manchester United, although no official offers have come in for the 24-year-old.

The Blues are said to believe Jackson has the potential to become a £100m striker, and the Senegal international reportedly wants to stay and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge next season.
