Serie B side Sudtirol are close to wrapping up a loan deal for young Inter Milan midfielder Jacopo Martini.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper report that the Trentinese will bring the 19-year-old in now that his loan with Foggia is done.

Teenage midfielder Martini has been part of Inter’s youth setup since 2020.

The young midfielder joined the Nerazzurri’s Under-18 team from Chievo Verona in the summer of 2020.

Since then, Martini has been on loan with the Under-19 or Primavera team of Emilian side SPAL, and then spent the 2022-23 season as part of Inter’s Primavera team.

He helped Inter’s Under-19s win the Primavera championship during his season with the team, He played under legendary former defender Christian Chivu as coach.

Then, last summer, Inter sent Martini out for his first loan within the senior game.

The young midfielder joined Foggia in Serie C. He spent the whole of last season playing in the Italian third tier with the club.

Foggia just had Martini on a season-long loan deal from Inter.

Therefore, the 19-year-old has been back at the Nerazzurri, who have been working to figure out the next step for him.

And it has always looked as though the step up to Serie B would be a logical next move for Martini.

There were a few clubs from the Italian second division who showed an interest in the teenager, reports Tuttosport.

But according to the newspaper, it is Sudtirol who will win the race for Martini’s signature.

The Trentinese team will sign the 19-year-old on a season-long loan deal.

Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and Assistant Sporting Director Dario Baccin are back in Milan from the Euros.

And with the sporting staff now back, Inter are sorting out loan deals for young players like Martini.
