Brazilian produced a brilliant assist before his afternoon came to a premature end
Pep Guardiola admitted he was unsure how serious Ederson’s injury was after the Manchester City goalkeeper was forced off against Crystal Palace.
The Brazilian produced a brilliant assist for City’s fourth goal in the 5-2 win, clipping a ball over the top of the Palace and into the path of James McAtee, who went round Dean Henderson and finished into the empty net.
However, Ederson went down shortly after and appeared to be having his right leg stretched out, having picked up an issue while playing a short pass.
Asked after the match for an update, Guardiola said: "I don't know. He made the pass and said he felt something and couldn't continue."
Ederson now has seven Premier League assists to his name during his time in England, two more than any other goalkeeper has managed.
"That's unbelievable,” Guardiola said of that stat. “He has an incredible quality of pass."
City went two goals down to Palace at the Etihad, defending poorly as Eberechi Eze and Chris Richards struck for the visitors, but the response from Guardiola’s side was superb.
Kevin De Bruyne, named player of the match, scored a free-kick and Omar Marmoush equalised before half-time, before City pulled away after the break.
Mateo Kovacic fired in from a De Bruyne shortly after the restart, and McAtee and Nico O’Reilly capped a strong afternoon for the hosts.
De Bruyne has entered the final stretch of his City career after announcing he would be leaving the club at the end of the season and Guardiola was thrilled to see the Belgian back to his best after a string of injury issues.
"The Kevin we have known for many years,” Guardiola said.
“I know he's struggled the last year and a half. He's free without pain and completely different. The way we played helped him a lot with incredible runners, the young lads, the full-backs."
