Inter defender Benjamin Pavard says that Marcus Thuram is ‘crazy guy’, describes Alessandro Bastoni as a ‘great footballer’ and argues that Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a better player than he often gets credit for in a video recently released around the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.
The France international gave an interview to UEFA describing all of his Nerazzurri colleagues in one word. Here is what he had to say about them all …
Nicolo Barella, he described as ‘energetic’ – “He has too much energy, the guy goes from 8am to 8pm, he doesn’t stop. He’s always smiling, he has so much energy, I don’t know how he does it.”

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, he described as ‘smart’ – “Mkhitaryan is so intelligent. He’s better than the average player on the pitch, sometimes you don’t realise. For me, he’s a role model because he’s a great professional, and he’s great on the pitch.”
Hakan Calhanoglu, he called the Inter ‘DJ’ – “He’s the DJ of the team. When I go into the dressing room, the music is loud. He loves music. It can be French, German, English, Turkis, anything.”
Alessandro Bastoni, he described as ‘relaxed’ – “Bastoni, he’s very calm, very poised, unfazed. He’s a great footballer. He’s very humble, a hard worker, calm and relaxed.”
Marcus Thuram, he described as ‘crazy’ – “He’s a crazy guy, I swear. He’s one hell of a guy.”

Mehdi Taremi, he described as ‘kind’ – “Mehdi Taremi, he’s kind. He has a kind face. He’s always so nice.”
Yann Sommer, he called Inter’s resident ‘model’ – “He’s a model when he posts everything on Instagram,” Pavard joked. “I knew him from Bayern, we lived together for six months in Munich. He’s also calm, quiet. He loves photos. Before training, he always puts his little headband in his hair.”
Yann Bisseck, he described as ‘Cheerful’ – “He’s always smiling, loving life, he’s a very nice person.”
Inter captain Lautaro Martinez was described by his go-to nickname: ‘Toro’ – “Lautaro Martinez is a ‘Toro’ on the pitch in the way he runs. He’s quite well built, so his nickname suits him well.”
